About

Velograph has been around since 2006 serving as a blog and for a short while a color zine. When I was a courier, I spent a lot of down time taking pictures of friends, buildings, and the city of Seattle. Over time I’ll be restoring these photos to the current site.

My name is Jason Britton. I am originally from Duarte, CA, which is about 20 minutes east of downtown LA. I moved to Seattle in 2002, and then to Portland in 2008.

Riding has been a big part of my life since I moved to the Pacific Northwest. I started by commuting to work through downtown Seattle, and that eventually led to riding for fun, and ultimately for work.

After moving to Portland, I started exploring the region by bike. Our mountain biking situation is pretty dire, with the closest real trails being about an hour from the city center. As this reality sunk in, I started pedaling my bike farther and farther from my home, finding joy and wonder in the backroads throughout the Willamette Valley.

In 2010, I hooked up with Velodirt for the inaugural Oregon Stampede. This ride cemented my love for remote roads, and I’ve been planning and scheming adventures ever since.
